X is for X-ray

Today I introduced the letter X by showing the kids an x-ray of when Bridger broke his arm. We talked about why we would have to have an x-ray, and if we break a bone what has to happen. Then they each took turns drawing the letter X on the board.

We sure missed Deegan today.

Then it was time to do the X worksheet. Addi was excited when she got all of her x’s traced.

After they did the X worksheet, it was time for Arts & Crafts. We made q-tip skeletons.

Pretty dang cute don’t you think!!! (I was out of black paper, or we would have made x-rays of the entire body…)

Taylor had treat today and brought apples, oranges and bananas. It was the perfect treat! They were gobbled right up.

After snack we read a few different books to learn about bones. “A Book About Your Skeleton” by Ruth Belov Gross, and “Bones” by Claire Llewellyn. We learned that there are 206 bones in our bodies, that we need milk to make our bones strong, that we have joints and muscles and bones that make up our bodies. Also that our finger bones are called phalanges. They all laughed when they said that word…it is pretty fun to say!

Then it was onto our Life Skill… “Let’s Learn our Full Names.” We talked about why each of them was named the way they were, and they learned to draw their full name in both Uppercase and Lowercase letters. What a smart group of kids I have. They are continually amazing me!!!

Now it is off to free time where they always play “Cats & Dogs.” I enjoy listening to them meow and bark…they are so cute!!! Another great day of preschool. Thanks for having such great kids!!!
