1 day left…

I can’t believe that it has come down to the last week of preschool! The last few months of this Summer Preschool session have flown by. It is crazy to me. I have such a great group of kids. I have been so lucky to have them be a part of my life.

Today was the last day of the alphabet. We did Y & Z.

010

When I think of these letters, the first thing I think about is the ZOO!!! So it was only fitting to make the Zoo today.

I found these cute little books with an Elephant, Snake, Giraffe, and Monkey in them…

013 014 015

They have little doors over the animals. They are pretty adorable, and the kids loved to create theirs.

012

We learned this cute little song…I just think it is adorable.

Since we as a class are going to the Zoo for our last day of preschool, and won’t really be at the house, I decided to give them there end of preschool gift. 018

I made them personalized binders…

001

002 003 004 006 007 008 009 They each have a personalized letter from Miss Brandi, and sheets of laminated paper that they can draw on with dry erase papers including their names, alphabet, numbers, and phonics pages that they will have to write the beginning letter of the sound the picture makes. I hope they use them, and continue to learn. I have been so impressed and proud of them over this year. Watching them grow and develop so much. I will miss them so much.

To my parents: I  gave each of the kids a field trip permission form. I HAVE TO HAVE THEM RETUREND on Wednesday before you drop your kids off at 9. Please include your $10.00 (cash preferably, since it will be used). Pick up will be at 3:30 at Miss Brandi’s. If the time changes for whatever reason I will send a text to everyone. Also, PLEASE remember to put sunscreen on them since we will be outside for the majority of the day.

THANKS for letting me take them to the Zoo. It will be such a fun filled day. I am sad that it is the last day of Preschool, but happy we get to go out with a “roar.”

“Erupting” with Fun

I had to cancel preschool last Thursday, so we had our make-up day today! It is always fun when we have school on a different day of the week when the kids are yelling what day of the week it is… I always end up laughing!

Today was the review of the letters U and V. Such similar letters. I really emphasized that the V had a point on the bottom. Still sometimes the v’s looked like u’s and u’s looked like v’s. What is important is that they could tell the difference.

Today was all about Volcano’s... We learned about them, made them, and watched them erupt! It was so so so much fun. I had smiles from ear to ear! I just love that and eat it up.

  • A volcano is an opening in the earth’s crust through with melted rock, ash, and gases are forced out.
  • A volcano is a mountain or hill made from the melted rock that builds up around such an opening.

We didn’t have time to watch this, but thought I would put it on here anyway…It is pretty incredible to watch.

A volcano is formed… (This I did ahead of time. All it is is tin foil and a disposable cup).

A volcano is made unique…

A volcano erupts…

Does it get more exciting then this? I’m not sure. Laughing…they really loved it.

IF you want to make a volcano with your little ones all you need to do is add 2-3 tsp of Baking Soda in the center of the volcano, then add 1/2 cup of vinegar. If you want to add an element, you can color it with food coloring.

I hope you can “Erupt” with fun today!!!

T is for TURTLE

Sorry for the short post…Hopefully I can come back and expand it a little…

We did S & T today, and made these adorable little turtles.

Oo & Pp

I hope you all had such an amazing holiday weekend. It truly is so important to take a moment and realize how lucky we are to have our freedom. We truly are so blessed!

Today we did the letters O & P! “These are easy letters…” they all said. It is exciting for me when I hear them say stuff like that, and not the dreaded “I can’t.” I don’t like that at all, and tell them they can not say that in our class. I tell them they can do whatever they want to do, all they have to do is try there best, and they will succeed.

Writing the letters…

For our craft today we did these little cutie pies…

307

Each is very unique, and so adorable. Look at these kiddos create these cute little owls.

304 305

I don’t know what I like better,

THESE…

308

(Deegan, Bridger, Grace, Emma, Cason, Addi)

or  these…

I would say the colorful beauties my class created win! Aren’t they just darling.

We read “If you give a Pig a Pancake,” and “There was an old lady who swallowed a trout.” Both are such cute books. Then the kids helped me read “Play It,” and “Jump Rope.” Both little books are made up of mostly sight words. They do so well at it. Words like “There,” and “The” are slightly confusing at times, but I am so impressed with how smart they are!!!  Today the new sight words are: have, and, a, is, said, play, for, that.

Today was a great day back from a long busy and fun weekend. Addisyn’s birthday was on July 5th, so we want to wish her a very Happy Happy Birthday.  We hope your day was very special, and you got everything you wished for.

Just a reminder to everyone…

25% off coupon (final) copy

PLEASE spread the word. There are only a few days left until the coupon expires!

Have a wonderful weekend!
