Happy Father’s Day, and E’s & F’s
Little Miss Emma was so excited to share all the fun things that her and Spark were able to do together…
“Spark met my cousins. Their names are Lauren, Will, Austin, Lily, Kate, Sam, Dave, Evelyn and Charlie. Spark played with us at my Grandpas house. It was raining when I went home. Spark and I had to run super fast through the rain. Spark said “Ooh, Ooh, Aah, Aah.” Spark slept with me every night because I love Spark.”
Emma, It sure sounds like you had so much fun. Spark is lucky to have someone who loves him like you!!!
Because Father’s Day is on Sunday, we had to do something special for our Dads.
First thing we did a cute little question answer survey. Some of the answers sure make me laugh. The kids are so adorable!!! I am so lucky to have them in my class.
We also made these t-shirts for our dads…
I didn’t get a picture of everyone doing this because we were hurrying to get hands washed… but, each of them put hand prints on the back of the t-shirt! I am sure it is the best pat on the back these days will have had in a long time!!!
Instead of doing a card, I had them decorate brown paper bags for the gift to go in! I should have gotten pictures, but I didn’t. Oops… They were adorable though, and so creative.
Of course we had to do some work today. It was E’s & F’s! Look at those little scholars at work…
For Arts & Crafts today we did water bottle fish…
They did such a great job. It was a fun little craft.
Today was the last day to learn the site words; at, all, one, from, up. Please continue to review them with your kiddos. They are so smart and are learning them fast!!!
Happy Father’s Day!
I hope Sunday is thee perfect day for you!!! Have a wonderful Weekend.

Review…Review…Review…
We only have a few weeks left before school is out {tears…}, So last week I did some assessment of the kids to see what areas they needed that last little push of knowledge in before school is over on the 26th.
One of the things I noticed through my assessment is that most of the kiddos write their whole name in uppercase letters, so today we practiced writing it in lowercase letters. Habits are a little hard to break, so it has been a little challenging for them to change the way they have done it all year, but they are all doing so well with it, and catching on so quickly!
After they completed the name worksheet, it was more review…
Online there are so many resources. I combined two worksheets, the first one they could associate the letter A with apple, alligator, and angel. Then they practiced properly writing the letter A in uppercase and lowercase letters. This was done as a final review of the letters A,B,C,D,E,F,and G.
For my Parents: Please continue to work with them on the lowercase b, and d. These are a little confusing for some, and they write them backwards.
There was a lot of busy work for the kids. And so we had to take a few breaks… 1 was snack. Thanks Emma for the wonderful go-gurts. They were the perfect treat.
Another break was for puzzle time…
Each student was given 4 letter puzzle pieces. I like this because they had to work together to create something wonderful. After some great teamwork they were able to put the Alphabet Train together. It is over 10feet long. They were very excited and proud of themselves when it was all finished. What an accomplishment.
We also watched a little bit of our site words movie. The kids were acting out what the letters were doing… I thought it was just too cute not to include.
Here they are stirring the magic potion…with the word “his.”
Here they are being little pigs in a mud bath…with the little “on” pig
For my parents: I sent home with your children a registration form for the Summer Preschool Program. It needs returned with the $25.00 registration fee before Sunday May 15, 2011, if you are interested in enrolling them in the summer program. Thanks for all you do!

F is for FISH
Today was a fun day. We had fun projects, interesting books, songs to sing, and kids that were ready to learn! Made a great recipe for a fantastic day.
Doing the School Work is always the first thing we do at the table. All of them can completely write their first names with no help at all. I am so proud of them, and the way they are learning.
F is for FISH, so we made fishbowls today. They were a VERY fun project. The kids thought they were so fun.
Didn’t they do such an amazing job! I love how each of them were unique on the placement of their fishes. Some of them are even hiding being the seaweed!
Then it was time for snack and it was Miss Addi’s turn. She had cups of dirt for everyone. The Gummy Worms were a HUGE success!
We read “Oceans Alive Dolphins,” and “Oceans Alive Jellyfish” by Ann Herriges. We learned a lot about Dolphins & Jellyfish. Some of the kids already were very educated about these creatures.
We learned a cute little song “Ten Little Fishes.”
10 little fish swam in a stream
Red, and blue, and some were green.
They chased each other until one said
I am tired, I’m going to bed.
9 little fish swam in a stream…
By the time we got to 1 they were singing all of the words pretty well, but didn’t want to do it again! Laughing…
The we learned about how important it is to CLEAN UP our messes. We sang “Clean up, Clean up, everybody everywhere…Clean up Clean up, Everybody do your share.”
TODAY WAS A GREAT DAY!!!
