Today for our life skill we talked about the Dentist. I found this cute idea to do these Marshmallow Mouths!

Then we talked about the best way to brush our teeth… while singing this song!

Brush Brush Brush your teeth

Brush them everyday

Brush them up and brush them down

in little circle all around!

Each kiddo got a new tooth brush and gave it a good try!

  1. Having this kind of school activity can be helpful. Kids will not just learn the proper way of brushing and flossing their teeth; they will also have a fun time interacting with their classmates. Using marshmallows as replicas of teeth will embed in a child’s mind that, like a white marshmallow, our teeth can get discolored if not brushed properly. I hope more schools will implement these kinds of activities where kids can learn about oral hygiene in a creative manner. Sometimes children can easily grasp and remember things if they learn it in a jovial manner.

  2. This idea is not only cute and creative, but it also helps instill in these children the benefits of brushing one’s teeth. Brushing can be easily overlooked, especially if you didn’t include it in your routine when you were younger. Bad oral hygiene results to mouth problems like halitosis and dental caries, to name a few. Thus, to avoid having mouth problems, brushing one’s teeth should be practiced early on.
