Play Dough Alphabet

I can’t believe that it is getting to be the end of this school year.

I will admit this year has been a bit of a challenge.

But, I love a challenge. I love these kids. I really do. I have seen so much growth over the last year with them. They truly are great, each in their own individual way!

Today for our review I thought it would be fun to take some play dough, and make letters out of them…

So adorable! They loved it, and were all smiles. My little Cannon made lots of letters, while some only made a few! It was fun for them.

Litter Bugs

I can’t seem to get under my own feet the last few days… well, weeks! So Here are a few post of the fun things that we have been doing here at Spark Preschool!!!

In honor of Earth Day, we were talking about RECYCLING!

I was excited about how this worked out on a whim.

After doing the morning routine, and some of “this and that” we went outside to soak up some sun, and enjoy a little snack from Mr. Cannon.

And with our Juice bottles, make little litter bugs! Here are the kids’ creations.

Aren’t they so good! Then we talked some about how to reuse the things that would otherwise be garbage. How to make something out of “nothing.” They all thought it was pretty cool that they could make a “friend” out of a drink bottle.

Little Lady Bug

This will be a fast post, but today we did the final review of our numbers.  We did these cute little lady bugs. Why? Because they had to count the spots, and legs. It was great practice.

Registration Fee: $35.00 (non-refundable)

Cost per month: $100.00

Tuesday & Wednesday: 9am-12pm

 

Weather your child will be attending Kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year, or if you feel that preschool will benefit your child, I can help encourage confidence and boost learning skills, so your child can achieve their very best. Not only will your child learn the social skills that are needed in the future, but they will also learn letter recognition, numbers, counting, writing their names, beginning life skills, site words, and even reading. Our class size is limited to 8-10 children per class. I feel that gives them the edge they need to have the attention that is required from me to help them excel.

 

Class Options: There is only one class option available for the Summer Preschool Program.  ( If these days & times are not convenient with your schedule, please make suggestions as to what would work better for you. There may be others that share your same schedule, and I will do my best to accommodate. I am a mother of 3, and understand that scheduling is sometimes the most difficult part of the day. I want to help make it a little easier for all of us).

 

-Sparks- Tuesday & Wednesday: 9am-12pm

 

Option #1-Sparks (Children who are ready to start Kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year).

This program is a must to give that last boost to your soon to be Kindergartener. In this curriculum we will do a complete introduction/review of the upper and lowercase letters, numbers, colors and shapes. When the above foundation is comfortable for your child, I will put a lot of focus on introducing the site words. A new reader finds these site words very frustrating until they are memorized. It is crucial for them to be able to instantly recognize site words, without having to take the time to sound them out. It is proven, that if a student grasps reading essentials early on and develops a love for reading, school will come much easier for them. I also believe that if Kindergarten is enjoyable, rather than frustrating or difficult, your child will develop a love for school and learning in general. My goal is to have them reading sentences using these site words such as “You have to go and see it.” The curriculum will features a theme-based, activity rich, hands on curriculum. Every day is full of arts & crafts, rhythms & movement, snack time, stories, skill building, and so much more.

 

If you pay for your Summer Preschool Program in advance {the registration fee, and the two months of school} I will give you 50% off your registration fee, a $17.50 value.  I will also give you a 10% discount per monthly fee. This is an additional savings of $20.00. This will make your payment of $217.50 due, by May 10, 2012. That is a total savings of $38.50! ($17.50 registration fee & 10% savings of $20).

 

Payment Options:

$100.00/month Due the first day of school at the beginning of the month.  Other options are available. Please don’t hesitate to discuss them with me.

Just a reminder:

To reserve your child’s spot, the form will need to be returned by May 10th, with the $35.00 registration fee. Additional fees will be due starting on the first day of school, June 6, 2012. To take advantage of the $38.50 SAVINGS, you will need to have the total preschool cost of $217.50 in on or before May 10, 2012.

 

Reservations will be made on a first come first serve basis. Class size is limited to 8-10 Students.

REGISTRATION AGREEMENT:

I ______________________, agree to register my child into SPARK preschool learning academy instructed by Brandi Park for the Summer Preschool Program beginning June 7, 2012 and ending July 26, 2012. I agree to pay $100.00/month in tuition. Tuition may be paid by cash, personal check, or money order, and it must be paid by the first class session of every month (unless prior arrangements have been made). Tuition cannot be refunded, and I understand that if my child is not able to attend a preschool session under any circumstance, I will not be refunded my tuition.

 

To hold a place for my child in this program and to provide my child’s school supplies, I agree to pay the registration amount of $35.00, which is also non-refundable.

Happy Easter

Just a Reminder: There will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday April 5, 2012! Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.

Since there is no school on Thursday, we celebrated Easter today. It was a fun filled day. We did miss a few students, and hope they had a wonderful day. We did however have an extra student today, Aidan, Bennett’s brother. We are so happy you could join us today!

We started the day with some painting, so we had some drying time. What where we painting? Easter Baskets!

Then while they were drying we said “I can count to 20” as we are starting our number review portion of our curriculum. I can’t believe there are only 2 more months of preschool! Crazy…

It is a cute little song. The kids were really starting to learn it. We will be singing this one again as we continue our number review! I want each kiddo to be able to count to twenty without hesitation. That is where they expect them to count going into Kindergarten! So I have made that my goal.

You just can’t celelbrate Easter without having an Easter Egg hunt! I was getting short on time, so instead of hiding them outside like I had planned, we hid them in the living room. There aren’t very many hiding spots… so after hiding some of the 80+ eggs, I finally just tossed them on the floor. DSC_0151

The kids didn’t seem to care. They were just happy to be running around, gathering eggs!!!

After the egg hunts {yes hunt’s} were over, it was time to read a quick book before the kids headed home. I got each of them this cute little book for Easter…

So we read it. Then it was time to end the day!

It was a great day.

Again, there is no school on Thursday.
