Today we learned the number 8. I was very impressed with how well each of them wrote them on the board.
Logan & Addi
Sayla & Kaden
Nikkya & Evelyn
Cannon & Deegan
I really try to encourage them to draw 8’s on the worksheet. I have been encouraging good effort by putting a sticker on the page after they draw one by themselves. They are all doing such a great job, and have grown so much in the last few months!
Then we sang “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” to introduce our craft project. We made spiders for two reasons:
- 1-Because spooky spiders are such a huge part of Halloween.
- 2- Because (most) Spiders have 8 legs!
My huge motive with this craft was to work on scissor skills. I have had to make a few adjustments with our curriculum while we work on them. This was a good way for them to try and cut a strait line.
This is our spooky 8 legged spider…
Miss Sayla had snack today. They all love handing out the treats.
At the end of the day, I had the kids practice writing their names. I have made each of them laminated name cards that they trace with dry erase markers. They are fun, and it makes them excited to see themselves accomplish something so huge!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! See you Tuesday.
