Starting the Alphabet- Letter A

Today was our first day of learning the alphabet! So naturally it was all about the letter A.

Cannon & Evelyn we sure missed you today.

To introduce all of the letters we read “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.” It is such a cute book.

Look at these little A’s

I think they all did exceptional! Don’t you?

A little more practice with the worksheet! It has upper and lower case letters, letter recognition with a’s as the first letter, and a’s in the middle of the words! Such a good worksheet!

Meet Andrew the alligator…

On his behalf today we made Alligators…

To keep with our theme, we sang “5 little Monkeys”

Five little monkey swinging in a tree

Teasing Mr. Alligator, “Can’t catch me!”

Along comes Mr. Alligator, as quiet as can be

And SNAPS that monkey right out of that tree.

(Repeat with 4 monkeys, then 3 monkeys, and on and on)

For our Life Skill we talked about the importance of washing our hands. We did a fun little activity…

I sprinkled some glitter on the kids hands. I told them to touch different parts of themselves and each other. What happens? The glitter sticks to what they touch. In this activity the glitter equals germs! When we have germs on our hands, they spread onto everything we touch. I think they completely loved it, and completely understand it.  With this we learned (or tried to-it’s a little long) this song…

Washing our Hands

… and we washed our hands.

I made sure that they washed all the germs (glitter) off!
