Halloween has never been one of my favorite holidays, but I will admit that when these little guys showed up at my door it made me Happy! We had a lot of fun today. We made paper plate spider webs with 2 spiders. They had to lace yarn in and out of the holes. Great project for so many reasons.

I also had them decorate there goodie bags. They used puff paints, and did amazing jobs.

We played games, ready books, sang songs and introduced letters today!

Happy Halloween!!! Hopefully you all have a wonderful safe weekend!

1-10 Review

Today we did a lot of fun activities to review the numbers 1-10! I didn’t take a ton of pictures, but we did have a lot of fun. One of the activities we did was to roll the dice, and draw the number it landed on.

They had fun with it. While they ate snack, we watch our numbers movie one last time.

Sorry for the short post.

Please continue to work with your little ones on the numbers. Thanks! Also, don’t forget to dress up Thursday for our Halloween Party. It should be SPOOKTACULAR!

The number 9

Today we did the number 9. Just a quick re-cap… sorry.

The Great Number 8!!!

Today we learned the number 8. I was very impressed with how well each of them wrote them on the board.

I really try to encourage them to draw 8’s on the worksheet. I have been encouraging good effort by putting a sticker on the page after they draw one by themselves. They are all doing such a great job, and have grown so much in the last few months!

Then we sang “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” to introduce our craft project. We made spiders for two reasons:

  • 1-Because spooky spiders are such a huge part of Halloween.
  • 2- Because (most) Spiders have 8 legs!

My huge motive with this craft was to work on scissor skills. I have had to make a few adjustments with our curriculum while we work on them. This was a good way for them to try and cut a strait line.

Miss Sayla had snack today. They all love handing out the treats.

At the end of the day, I had the kids practice writing their names. I have made each of them laminated name cards that they trace with dry erase markers. They are fun, and it makes them excited to see themselves accomplish something so huge!
